Birdworld [29/07/2017]

In the nostalgia of recent days and the sheer excitement of another adventure, I decided to persuade my significant other and my parents to accompany me on a trip to an animal park in which I hadn't visited since being about 5/6 years old. We went, you guessed it by the title of this blog, to BIRDWORLD. Based in the rural and densely forested area on the outskirts of Farnham, Surrey, it is a wonderfully quaint place, although it doesn't contain the Americanisms and plastic facade of parks owned by those such as Merlin Entertainments. Walking through, you can see the impressive amount of work and care put in everyday to make sure every bird and creature is healthy and happy. This also goes for those visiting. Not just consisting of the obvious contingent of birds, the park is also home to a farm of which some animals you can visit and physically pet whilst others roam free around your ankles. Adjacent to the main attractions and area is a little sister building named UnderwaterWorld. This part contains many varieties of tropical fish and even contains terrapins living alongside a pair of dwarf crocodiles.

With continuous themes around giving a homely aesthetic, the chorus of sounds filling the air and signs giving a wisdom-filled insight into the world of these beautifully kept creatures, this park truly is a little treasure and for a day out is something that fun and interesting for everyone.
